Mpumalanga Furniture Donation
Improving BettaLife skills and opportunities for growth
Clau Clau Youth Development Forum – R44 000 Furniture Donation
The unemployment rate in South Africa rose to 44.4 % in the second quarter of this year, and it goes without saying that every effort needs to go towards creating opportunities for employment. That is why Bettabets has made unemployment one of our 4 key focus areas in our Corporate Social Investment strategy, for we understand the importance of this leg in the growth of the economy, and ultimately, towards creating a BettaLife for our people.
Our recent CSI donation was made to an NGO named Clau Clau Youth Development Forum (CCYDF) in the township of Kabokweni, Mpumalanga, whose primary mission is to ‘advocate for transformation in their community through education, skills development and entrepreneurship
programs linked to career guidance.’ The CCYDF runs a program, together with the National Youth Development Agency, where youth are capacitated with CV-writing skills, how to answer interview questions and trained in life skills in order to improve their interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills. Our donation included six office desks, a credenza, filing cabinet, display cabinet, and storage cupboard which will be put to use for training and for the running of the organisations offices. The total value of the donation was R44 400.
We hope that with this office furniture donation, CCYDF are able to extend their good work to a broader community with more confidence and capability, helping to up-skill and secure more jobs for the youth in the Mpumalanga area.
