For some people gambling can change from being an entertaining and pleasurable activity to become a problem.
If you are concerned about your gambling, please take some time to answer the following questions as honestly as you can.
1. Did you ever lose time from work or college due to gambling?
2. Has gambling ever made your home or family life unhappy?
3. Have you ever felt deep regret after gambling?
4. Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts?
5. After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
6. After a win did you have a strong urge to return and win more?
7. Did you often gamble until your last Rand was gone?
8. Did you ever borrow money or sold something to finance your gambling?
9. Have you lost interest in your family, friends or hobbies?
10. Were you reluctant to use “gambling money” for normal expenditures?
11. Have you ever gambled to escape worry, trouble, boredom or loneliness?
12. Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?
Most persons with a gambling problems will answer “yes” to five or more of the above questions.
NOTE: If you suspect that you have a gambling problem, you should seek help for that problem regardless of how you score on this screening test.

The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) are widely available for assistance to all problem gamblers, offering free support, mentorship counseling and treatment programs for those suffering with a gambling problem. They can be found as follows:
SELF-EXCLUSION
Self-exclusion is a joint agreement between the player and BettaBets. This is where the power is in the hands of the player to choose to remove him/herself from any betting exposure and/or activities for a prescribed period of time. An individual that is excluded from gambling activities cannot take part in any gambling activity for the requested period. During this period of exclusion, the NRGP offers Counselling to the excluded individual.
The self-exclusion options available are:
• Cooling-Off: your account will be suspended for at least 24 hours
• Temporary Suspension: your account will be suspended for at least 1 month
• Self-Exclusion: your account will be suspended for at least 3 months
• Permanent Self-Exclusion: your account will be permanently closed and you will not be able to re-open it
Should a player wish to exclude him/herself from any gambling activities, a request can be obtained from any provincial gambling board or by contacting BettaBets via email on responsiblegambling@bettabets.com.
Once the self-exclusion period has expired, your account will not automatically be re-activated. Your account will only be considered for reactivation upon your own request and may only come into effect after 24 hours. If you would like to reactivate your account, please contact us for support, by emailing responsiblegambling@bettabets.com.
In the case of a permanent self-exclusion request, we will contact you with a view to returning any remaining funds in your account.
Please note that information regarding your account activity can be viewed online. The information may include: details about your account balance, gambling history (including bet amounts, winnings and losses), deposits, withdrawals and other related transactions.
