BettaBets is incredibly proud of our recent donation to the award-winning NGO, Wise 4 Afrika.
Wise 4 Afrika (a.k.a. The Wise Collective) exists to provide legal representation and support to the women and girls who are not able to afford legal assistance on their own. Many of the victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV) come from impoverished areas and through their program, they seek to educate and empower women and girls on their rights and the legal actions they can take. “Wise 4 Afrika exists to support survivors of GBV, walk the journey to justice with them, and stand for them.” – Wise4Afrika.
BettaBets were the first organisation to support their cause through a CSI donation, and are proud of the ongoing support that we offer to Wise4Afrika and, in turn, to victims of GBV.
It’s been reported that the Government GBV and Femicide Command Centre alone recorded more than 120,000 victims in the first three weeks of lockdown.
“Lockdown was a horrid reminder of the struggle that we as women face daily, as well as the state of emergency that we as a country are in. More needs to be done to find sustainable solutions to protect and empower our women and children. BettaBets is committed to the role we play in this fight against GBV, and are pursuing more meaningful and impactful strategies moving forward.” says Smita Narsi, BettaBets CSI Consultant.
