World Food Day

World Food Day provides an occasion to highlight the plight of 870 million undernourished people in the world. It’s a day dedicated towards heightening public awareness on issues such as absence and scarcity of food in the country and to strengthen solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.

As Bettabets, we believe in making a difference where we can. We’ve been taking a stand against food insecurity, working with various organisations to help alleviate hunger in our country. To create a BettaLife, we want to support not only our own, but our wider community.

On 16 October 2021, Bettabets made a generous donation of groceries, as well as garden tools and compost to Kganya Yabatho Dropping Centre in Emdeni, Soweto. The social workers at this Centre work tirelessly to help uplift surrounding communities through food supply, childcare, youth training programmes and skills development initiatives. With this donation we were able to help support and impact up to 300 people in the Soweto community.

In our view, every little bit counts, and we hope to continue bringing food to the plates of those in need.
